Change the menu and homepage
As an owner or admin, open Settings → Appearance → Blog homepage and menu. Under Homepage layout, choose Magazine for a grid of cover images or Journal for a compact list of headlines.
Under Header menu, select Add menu link. Enter a Menu label and a Link address. Use a path such as
/pages/aboutfor a published blog page or a full HTTPS address for your main website.Add up to six links and use the arrows to put them in order. Select Save homepage and menu, then View public blog. Click each link to check it reaches the intended page. To restore the built-in menu, remove all custom links and save.
Choose how a post looks
For new posts, open Settings → Appearance → Post layout → Default layout. Choose Guide for tutorials or Editorial for stories. The default saves immediately and also applies to new Autopilot posts.
For one post, open its Preview step. Under Choose a layout, select the layout. If the post has a cover image, use Show the cover picture to decide whether it appears above the article.
Select Next: Publish, then Publish now or Publish changes. Open the live post to verify the result. Changing the default does not restyle an already published post automatically.
If your plan does not include post layouts, your blog uses Guide.
