Search numbers show about how many people search Google for a keyword each month. When you connect your own DataForSEO account, every lookup runs on your DataForSEO balance and uses no PixelClaw credits. On a lifetime plan, it is how you get search numbers without credits. ## Before you start - You need to be an owner or admin of the blog. Editors can get search numbers once it is connected. - You need a DataForSEO account. Create one at [app.dataforseo.com/register](https://app.dataforseo.com/register). DataForSEO asks new accounts to verify their email and phone before its API works. - You need money on your DataForSEO balance. DataForSEO charges each lookup to your balance at its own prices. PixelClaw adds nothing on top. ## Step 1: Copy your API login and API password 1. Sign in to DataForSEO and open [API Access](https://app.dataforseo.com/api-access). 2. Copy your **API login**. It is often the email you signed up with. 3. Copy your **API password**. This is not the password you sign in with. DataForSEO shows it for the first 24 hours after you register. After that, click **Send by e-mail** and DataForSEO emails it to you. ## Step 2: Connect it in PixelClaw 1. In PixelClaw, open **Settings**, then **Integrations**, then the **Research & keywords** tab. 2. Find the **DataForSEO** card. It says **Not connected**. 3. Paste your API login and API password, then click **Connect DataForSEO**. 4. PixelClaw checks the login with DataForSEO, which costs nothing. The card then says **Connected** and shows a shortened version of your login. ## Step 3: Get search numbers 1. Open **Research**, then the **Keywords** tab, and choose **Your list** or **Find**. 2. Click **Get search numbers**. The window says the lookup runs on your DataForSEO account. 3. Click **Look up on your DataForSEO account**. The numbers appear in the **Monthly searches** column when the lookup finishes. 4. Each result is kept for 30 days. Looking up the same keyword again in that time is free and does not call DataForSEO. ## How your login is protected - PixelClaw stores your API login and API password encrypted. The API password is never shown again, to anyone. The card only shows a shortened login. - Only owners and admins of the blog can connect, replace or disconnect it. - PixelClaw uses it only for the search-number lookups your team starts. ## Change or remove it - To use another account, click **Replace login** on the DataForSEO card and paste the new API login and API password. - To stop using it, click **Disconnect**. Search numbers then use PixelClaw's account and your plan's credits, if your plan includes them. ## If something goes wrong - **DataForSEO didn't accept this API login and API password**: copy both again from API Access. Use the API password, not your sign-in password. - **Your DataForSEO account isn't verified yet**: finish the email and phone check in your DataForSEO dashboard. - **Your DataForSEO balance is too low** or **is empty**: add funds in your DataForSEO dashboard. - **Your account only accepts requests from listed IP addresses**: turn off the IP allow-list on DataForSEO's API Access page, or contact PixelClaw support. - **Your DataForSEO daily cost limit is reached**: raise the limit in your DataForSEO API settings, or try again tomorrow. - **Too many tries in a short time**: wait 15 minutes, then connect again. ## Lifetime plans On a lifetime plan, search numbers on PixelClaw's account use your credits. Connect your own DataForSEO login as described above, and every lookup runs on your DataForSEO account with no PixelClaw credits.
